Welcome to Whitley County EMS Online!

 WCEMS was founded on February 2, 2001

The Fiscal Court of Whitley County by Ordinance 2001-02 created the new service to provide continued Emergency Medical Service for all of Whitley County.

Mission Statement
The primary mission of Whitley County Emergency Medical Services is the preservation of life and limb through the delivery of fast and efficient prehospital care. Whether it is an illness or injury, the need for rescue and technical services, disasters man made or natural, Whitley County EMS will always be there for you!

Whitley County EMS Serves rural Southeastern Kentucky on a daily basis. ALS (Advanced Life Support/Paramedic) and BLS (Basic Life Support/EMT) are offered for everyone when needed. Whitley County EMS operates 24 Hours a day/365 days a year including holidays. Common types of injuries in this area include cardiac emergencies (chest pain, etc.), respiratory emergencies (short of breathe, asthma, etc.), MVA's (Motor-Vehicle Accidents) and ATV accidents (four-wheelers). These and MANY other injuries are taken care of for Whitley Countians every day. Whitley County EMS also offers hospital and doctors office transfers, non-emergency transfers, emergency transfers and out-of-town transfers. Local trauma centers include the University of Tennessee Medical Center (Knoxville, TN), and the University of Kentucky Medical Center (Lexington, KY). Area hospitals include Baptist Regional Medical Center (Corbin, KY) and Jellico Community Hospital (Jellico, TN). Air-Ambulance services are provided by Air-Evac LifeTeam and UT LifeStar (amongst others).
